A Typical Horror Story

I was having a sleepover with my friends. A normal sleepover, like every teenager usually has. It was all going perfectly. Games, movies, snacks…  we were having lots of fun.

But then, Alex, suggested:

-Let’s play a game that I brought, it’s called Ouija Board.

-What is that game?- said Natalie.

-It’s a board with all of the letters, and the words “yes” or “no”. You also have a wooden triangle with a glass, where you put your finger. It supposedly is possessed by a demon. You need to make him questions and he answers by moving the triangle.

-Sounds fun, let’s play!- said everyone.

We started playing. The game already set, some of my friends got scared and said that they didn’t want to play, so it was down to me, Alex and Natalie. The three of us put our fingers in the triangle and asked:

-Is anybody there?

Nothing moved.We repeated the question.

-Is anybody there?

Still no answer. We repeated the question several times, changed the question but we didn’t get an answer.

-This isn’t working!- I said.

-Probably it isn’t real… – Alex replied.

Suddenly all the lights shut down and the objects in the room started shaking like crazy. We all got scared.

-What is happening?- we all said.

-I think we shouldn’t have played that game- said Natalie.

Everyone started running hoping to be able to escaped. Unfortunately, we realised that the doors were locked. We tried to call the police, but they didn’t believe us and hung up.

Suddenly we saw a shadow and everybody started screaming. We couldn’t move because we were too terryfied to react. He was getting closer and he started to kill everyone, one by one. I was so scared that I started to cry because the shadow was killing my friends.

And when he was walking to me I just closed my eyes and…

Suddenly I woke up and I saw all of my friends sleeping. And then I remembered, I had fallen asleep watching horror movies.

And now, every time they ask me to play that game I don’t let them play that game. I don’t want to see my friends being killed again.

While Liza was walking to Mark’s house, her phone rang. It was her mum. She said to go fast to her friend’s house because she had heard in the news that there was a killer in the streets of the city. When Liza arrived to Mark’s house, his family was shocked because they had also heard the news.

The two friends were in his bedroom to do their homework for school. Liza was looking through the window when suddenly she saw a dark shadow in an abandoned house. She told Mark what she had seen and he decided to investigate.

They went to the house and hid behind a wall. They looked through a window and they saw a strange man who was carrying dead bodies. He put them on a chair and, with the blood of the dead, he wrote on the wall “You Will Be Next”. Liza stepped on a pair of glasses which made a big noise. Fortunately the strange man didn’t heard. But unfortunately Mark’s phone started to ring. At that moment they started running but the killer cought them. He took them to the house.

Nobody knows what happened to them and nobody talks about them.

We are going to write about 90210. It’s a very interesting programme which tells us a story about teenagers who will study at university. All of them are rich people and you can see this when Naomi buys a big house for her friends.

What we like about this TV programme is the fact that we can do the same as them and we can plan the future or dream about it.

We recommend it to teenagers especially, but everyone can see it.

The Wolf of Wall Street

We want to tell you about a comedy film called The Wolf of Wall Street. We went to the cinema with some friends to see it last week.

The story is about a guy who creates a company which buys and sells shares. First he was just a normal employee but after he lost his job he founded his own dishonest company with his neighbour and they had much success in the stock market. The main character is played by Leonardo DiCaprio and his performance is outstanding.

We really like the film but we think that it is too long, because it is more than three hours long. However, the film has a good story so everyone can follow it. The performances in general are spectacular. The set is absolutely fantastic because the scenery is really realistic.

We recommend it to the people who like good movies with a good plot, and people who want to laugh a little bit.

Masterchef Australia

We want to tell you about a very famous TV show called Masterchef Australia. It’s a cooking competition where a group of contestants compete against each other (and, sometimes, in teams) in different types of cooking challenges.

Over a period of about three months, the contestants are eliminated one by one. Their goal is to win the final prize of 100 thousand dollars and to write their own recipe book.

What we like the most about the show is the enormous variety of challenges that the contestants are given. The contestants, as well as the three main judges, are very funny and we can see that they have a real talent when it comes to food. We also love all the beautiful places they go and the types of food from those places.

We totally recommend everyone to watch this show because it’s really good, entertaining and you can also learn lots of recipes. You can watch it on SIC Mulher, in the evening, from Monday to Thursday.

We saw the Wolf of Wall Street last weekend in BragaParque Lusomundo Cinema and we loved it.

The film is about a young man named Jordan Belford and he starts working on Wall Street. Two weeks later the stock market crashes and he is fired.  Jordan goes looking for work and he finds a job in a small company.

We think you must see this film because it has epic action, parties and comedy stuff. The things we didn’t like so much, was when he took some drugs in the night club and it was weird.

If you like weird action films you will love this one but all the chaos will make you think a lot.

We are going to talk about a reality show called “Are you the one? “

We can see it on MTV almost every day. The objective of this programme is to find 10 perfect matches in just 10 weeks. There are 10 girls and 10 boys that have never seen each other in their lives.

In that period of time this group is living in a big mansion and obviously a lot of conflicts happen there. People think that they have discovered their match but in reality it’s not, and in some cases some contestants fall in love with the same person as others.

The prize is $ 500 000 for everyone, but they just have to find the 10 perfect matches before the end of the show.

In our opinion the worst thing in this programme is the fact that the group need to deal with each other and sometimes their personalities are different. This is the cause of  most fights in the house. Besides this, they are really messy and sometimes after a long night they appear in the house drunk and dizzy making the house dirtier.

On the other hand, there are positive points like the landscapes, the meetings, the design of the house and all the parties that the programme offers to the contestants.

We recommend it to someone that likes this type of reality show and wants to have a good time.

P.S: be careful, don’t become addicted like us!!

The Hunger Games

A few days ago, we went to the cinema to see a science-fiction film called The Hunger Games. The cast is Jennifer Lawrence, Josh H. and Liam H.

The plot is about 12 districts that need to fight to survive. Katniss (Jennifer Lawrence) and Peeta ( Josh H.) are the representatives of district 12 that are chosen by their district.

The part we most liked was during the games, when the emotion that the actors transmitted to the audience was really spectacular. We think that the special effects were absolutely fantastic, but the plot was a little bit confused and hard to follow. Why would a small number of teenagers fight to the death against others?

We would recommend this film to anybody who enjoys imaginative drama, with great special effects.

Visiting Portugal

If it’s your first time in Portugal our advice for you is to visit two places.

The first place we think you should visit if you are the kind of person who likes nature is the natural national park in Gêres. When you go there you can see a lot of animals, plants, trees, rocks and a great view!!! The best time of year to go there is in the winter since it snows a lot and you can enjoy that special time with family and friends.

From our point of view if you are thinking of visiting Gerês you should spend more than one day because there are lots of activities to do!

The other place is in Sintra. It’s in the middle of the forest and is called Palácio da Pena. It’s a historical palace who tells us about the ancient times of Portugal. The best part is that you can understand how kings and queens lived many years ago. To get there you can choose two ways: on foot and the person who gives you the tickets also gives you a map; or you can go by tram. In our opinion the best way is on foot as you can enjoy the beautiful view.

Palácio da Pena is such a colourful and beautiful place that we think it’s important to see with family and friends and of course it gives you a lot of culture!
