Portimão… and Braga

My favourite place in Portugal is Portimão, in the Algarve and I recommend it for people who like sun and hot weather.

In my opinion, Portimão has a lot of places to visit and go shopping. There are beautiful beaches such as Praia da Rocha and Barranco das Canas. There are other countries’ restaurants like Chinese, Indian and Japanese. If you like festivals you must go to Festival da Sardinha where you can eat a lot of fish and listen to popular music. If you like parks you can go to Parque da Juventude where are a lot of teenagers. At night the centre is very lively, but if you prefer quiet and relaxing places, I recommend getting away from the centre. You can also see a lot of night clubs and bars.

My second favourite place in Portugal is the city where I live, BRAGA!!! If you’re that kind of person that just thinks of food, this is the right place. We have a lot of cafés and restaurants and the most famous is Cantinho das Frigideiras. Braga is a city which is very relaxing. It has a library where you can read a book or play computer games, the theatre Theatro Circo has great shows and it’s very good for culture. Also it has a great number of parks like Parque da Ponte, where you can feel close to  nature: there are trees, squirrels, grass, little lakes…In this city you can see history everywhere, as Braga is very old and has historical buildings.

Chiado, Lisbon

Chiado is in the centre of Lisbon, the capital of Portugal. It’s near to the river

Tejo and is a good place to visit. Chiado is famous for its shops and for its theatres. You can discover good restaurants with all types of food, for example “Belcanto”, which has one Michelin Star. There you can buy things in famous brands shops, like Prada, Louis Vuitton and Gucci.

You can see good plays in “Dona Maria I” Theatre particularly in Chiado or “Tivoli” in Lisbon. If you like to hanging out at night and having fun in a pub or a disco, Chiado is the right place to go. There are a lot of people drinking and speaking. The bad side of Chiado is that you can find alcoholics and drug addicts. If you aren’t careful, you can be robbed, but Chiado is a good place to go.

Porto

A city to visit

One of the cities you should definitely go to is Porto. This city is very beautiful and it’s a historical place with lots of old buildings and churches.

In the summer, Porto is a place with a lot of tourists because of the wonderful beaches and parks to have picnics and have a good time with friends, family or just by yourself.

Like we said before, Porto has wonderful beaches with very soft sand and beautiful blue water. It’s a nice place to relax, have a nice time and for anyone wants to have some fun, you should go to clubs or music festivals because Porto has some of the best ones.

Porto it isn’t just about these things. Lots of people come from other cities and countries to the universities. This city has a good variety of restaurants and bars with a lot of different types of food and drinks like wine.

If you want to explore more of this gorgeous city you can go by taxi or public transport like the subway or just the bus.

Lisbon

A person who wants to come to Lisbon, Portugal’s capital, should visit:

– The River Tejo, where you can see some beautiful views;

– historical  places, like BelémTower or Marquês de Pombal;

– you can go to summer music festivals, like RIR (Rock in Rio) or see some concerts at Meo Arena, for example;

–  the city has a lot of shops, including clothes shops or new technology machines;

J  you can see a lot of high-quality sports, like football (the best clubs in Lisbon are Benfica, Sporting and Belenenses) or you can see five-a-side football or hockey. There are two or three good clubs there that play these sports;

–  if you like animals, you can go to the Zoo and the Aquarium;

–  if you prefer lively places, but less lively than Lisbon, you can go to Lisbon Suburbs, where you can do some shopping and find relaxing places including beaches or castles;

– you can also spend some time in the library, where you will find some information about the city and other things.

Lisbon is an old city, but we have a lot of teenagers that show their talent everywhere, with graffiti or singing with their guitars, something that we particularly like.
